47 YEARS ON.

When you have known someone for 47 years?

How does that feel?

Where did the time go?

How life has changed and how much have we changed?

When I look at this photo I realise how life has changed. The photo was taken not long after we met. The photo was taken in Mario's family home in Noble Park in the backyard.

In those days we would be lucky to get a photo like this.

A very natural shot that was not posed for. I am not even sure who took the photo.

One of Mario's brothers was playing in the family pool. The only way I know this is from the foot in the air in the background.

We probably have a handful of photos taken in the first few years that we met.

The reason for this was that we didn't have good cameras. I brought a camera for my first overseas trip to New Zealand when I was 18 and I gave Mario a really good camera for his 21st. This photo was taken when we were about 17 and 19. I remember he had a Polaroid instant camera when we first met. To say that these instant cameras have come a long way since then is a huge understatement.

We would buy a 24 photo film and it would probably take about 6 months to use them all. You would then have to get them developed by a chemist. There weren't many specialist shops in 1976. The cost was a lot more expensive to have these photos developed compared to these days.

After the tedious wait, half the photos were not very good. A lot were blurry or too dark or too light. You were lucky to have half the photos that were half decent.

I feel that this is one of the biggest things that have changed since 1976

We do not have to miss anything these days. Having a special photo or 10 is not a luxury anymore.

I love this photo and it is very sentimental.

Happy 47 years together for us and all the changes

that have shaped our lives.

I love this quote:

"A life lived in love with never be dull."
